What Are Plastic Sheets?

Plastic sheets are manufactured from synthetic polymer compounds. These materials consist primarily of synthetic resins and are enhanced with additives like fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, lubricants, and colorants. Plastic is valued for its adaptability, low cost, and compliance with modern green manufacturing standards.

Application in Non-Fired Brick Production

In the non-fired brick industry, pallets are essential auxiliary equipment. These pallets experience significant wear due to high usage frequency and load. Choosing the right pallet, such as a high-temperature PP pallet, can effectively extend service life and reduce production costs.

Key Properties of Plastic Materials

  1. Resistant to chemical corrosion
  2. Glossy finish; partially transparent or translucent
  3. Excellent electrical insulation
  4. Lightweight yet durable
  5. Easy to mass-produce at low cost
  6. Versatile, easy to color, and some are heat-resistant
  7. Moisture-resistant, useful for storage

General vs. Engineering Plastics

  • General Plastics (e.g., PE, PP):
Affordable and widely applicable across machine types.
  • Engineering Plastics:
More expensive, but superior in stability, rigidity, and toughness.

PVC transparent sheets are a good example—made with advanced foreign technology, offering excellent weather resistance, transparency, and hygienic properties. Common colors include white, sapphire blue, tea brown, and coffee, with thicknesses ranging from 2mm to 20mm.

Pallet Options in Brick Production

  • Plastic Pallets: Often used for their moisture resistance, but need careful handling due to impact brittleness.
  • Bamboo Composite Pallets: Made by hot-pressing thick bamboo slices. Offers a balance of strength and flexibility.
  • Glass Fiber Lightweight Pallets: Constructed from pine veneer and resin, these are layered and heat-pressed for lightweight durability.

Polymer Structure & Plastic Behavior

Plastics fall into two structural types:

  • Linear/Branched Polymers (Thermoplastics):
Flexible, elastic, and moldable (e.g., PP). Can be melted and reshaped.
  • Cross-linked/Network Polymers (Thermosets):
Rigid, heat-resistant, and non-remoldable. Ideal for heat-intensive applications.

Installation & Acceptance Standards for PP Sheets

When installing PP plastic boards, evaluate based on:

  1. Color and design consistency with project requirements
  2. Surface smoothness, no wrinkles or edge bubbles
  3. Tight, straight seams; delamination under 20cm² and >500mm spacing
  4. Seamless junctions with pipes and wall surfaces
  5. Skirting board alignment: ≤ ±3mm height variance, no wall gaps
