Final process availability depends on material, geometry, dimensions, tolerance and quantity. We confirm the supply scope in the quotation instead of assuming that every feature is suitable for every sheet grade.
Design-for-manufacturing checks
Finished thickness and machining allowance
State the finished thickness at pockets, grooves and countersinks. Machining both faces or removing a large amount of material may require a thicker starting blank and a revised flatness expectation.
Tolerances based on function
Plastic parts expand with temperature and may deform under continuous load. Apply tight tolerances only to dimensions that control fit, sealing or alignment. Define datums and the inspection temperature when measurements are critical.
Corners, holes and fasteners
Add practical internal radii instead of unnecessarily sharp corners. Specify hole type, countersink/counterbore details and distance from edges. Fastener design should allow for thermal movement and avoid excessive localized clamping.
Welded assemblies
Identify weld locations, joint geometry, service medium and loads. Matching filler material, clean preparation, controlled parameters and qualified operators are important. A structural tank or safety-critical assembly also requires engineering design and appropriate validation.

For repeat orders, always reference the same drawing number and revision. If the material grade, source, process or accepted tolerance changes, document the change rather than relying on a previous email or sample alone.

Can you quote from a 3D file only?
A 3D file helps define geometry, but add a PDF drawing with material, tolerances, finish, quantity and revision so the quotation has a clear acceptance basis.
Should we order a first article?
It is useful for new parts with critical fit, multiple operations or repeat volume. Agree on the measured features, report and approval process during quotation.
Can HDPE and PP parts be packed as one kit?
This may be possible after checking part size, labeling, surface protection and loading. Provide the bill of materials and quantity per set.
