Define the UHMWPE sheet application

UHMWPE, also written UHMW-PE or PE-UHMW, differs from HMWPE and general HDPE sheet. It is used for wear strips, guide parts and liners, but the material name alone does not establish service life or make a part interchangeable with metal. Compare the offered grade's data with the actual sliding partner, speed, pressure, abrasive material, temperature and chemicals. A self-lubricating label is not an instruction to remove lubrication. We review your requirements against the grade and product form we can offer.
Seven points for a comparable UHMWPE quotation
Information needed to define a UHMWPE sheet order:
- Material identity: specify UHMWPE and the required grade, not simply “PE sheet”. Identify any permitted recycled content, additives or substitutions. Request the offered material’s technical data rather than accepting another producer’s sheet as equivalent.
- Sheet dimensions: state length, width and thickness in millimetres, with quantities for each size. Distinguish nominal sheet dimensions from the finished-part dimensions and any machining allowance.
- Tolerances and flatness: identify the dimensions that affect fit and function. Agree how thickness, flatness and the final machined geometry will be checked; a stock sheet tolerance is not automatically a finished-part tolerance.
- Sliding and abrasive duty: describe what contacts the plastic, the movement, loading and abrasive material. Ask whether the available wear or friction evidence reflects those conditions, rather than comparing unrelated headline values.
- Operating environment: state temperature, exposure duration, chemicals and cleaning conditions. Include sustained loading or thermal movement that could affect fit; high impact resistance does not establish stiffness or resistance to creep.
- Special requirements: identify food contact, static control, fire performance or outdoor exposure where relevant. Ask for evidence covering the exact offered grade and intended use; colour and the UHMWPE name do not establish approval.
- Order evidence: agree product identification, applicable documents, dimensional checks, packing, destination and delivery basis. Confirm availability, minimum order quantity and timing for the actual request, not from an assumed standard-size list.
We confirm whether our quotation covers full sheets, cut blanks or finished parts. If your panel needs sections or joints, send us the drawing and service conditions. We agree the arrangement with your project designer; joined sections must not be assumed to perform as a single-piece panel.

- UHMWPE acceptance checks: we agree the dimensional and surface checks, product identification and documents for your order, and confirm which records we can provide. Inspection records do not replace qualification for your application.
- UHMWPE shipment packing: we agree surface protection, package dimensions, sheet or part quantities, identification and destination requirements with you. The packing and delivery arrangement follows the product form and order we have quoted.
