HDPE Road Mats for Remote Sites: Delivery and Access Planning

Plan temporary access before ordering panels

For a remote construction site, we need more than a panel quantity. Tell us how delivery vehicles will reach the unloading point, how panels will be moved into position and how the route will be recovered after use. Our HDPE road mats are offered to an agreed specification; a PE family name alone does not define the grade or a finished access route's capacity.

    1. Match panel dimensions to site handling

For the proposed panel, review dimensions and weight, the available lifting and handling resources and any connection details before planning delivery. Include the distance from the unloading point to the work area and access for installation equipment. A removable panel does not eliminate ground preparation or make every configuration suitable for manual lifting.

    2. Check weather, drainage and route changes

Describe expected weather and exposure, including standing water, temperature and contamination. Review drainage and the supporting ground with the responsible site team; placing panels is not a drainage design. Outdoor or UV requirements need confirmation for the material offered, rather than an assumption based on the name polyethylene.

Separate vehicle access, pedestrian routes and equipment operating areas in the plan. Routes at a remote site can change as construction progresses, so reassess the intended use and conditions when access is moved.

Review our HDPE ground protection mats for the panel configuration. Share the required dimensions and surface finish so we can confirm the supply scope.

    3. Plan access around environmental constraints

Identify areas to avoid, vegetation and watercourse constraints, runoff and spill controls and removal arrangements before selecting a route. A surface covering alone does not demonstrate zero soil pollution or vegetation damage. Agree the site's environmental requirements with the responsible project team; do not treat a generic PE label as an environmental approval.

    4. Include recovery in the project cost

Compare the delivered arrangement using the actual transport and unloading plan, installation and retrieval resources and cleaning, inspection and storage needs. Allow for handling at a remote location, not just the panel price. Reuse depends on panel condition and the next site's requirements; savings over gravel, timber or steel need a project-specific comparison.

    5. Keep panel selection separate from site acceptance

Discuss the required surface finish and assess traction and traffic controls for the actual route. Texture alone is not proof that vehicles will not skid. The responsible site team must review loads and supporting ground before use. Crane or piling areas require their own working-platform assessment; an access panel is not an automatic substitute for that design.

Agree what the factory offer covers

We review the requested material and panel specification and the processing and packing requirements before confirming an offer. Site suitability, route management and permission to use or load the arrangement remain separate project decisions. Tell us about mandatory material documents or inspection requirements at the enquiry stage.

Our HDPE access panel range is a starting point for discussing supply.
Confirm the offered grade, dimensions, surface and any drawing-based details before ordering.

Specify processing, inspection and export packing

    • Panel requirements: provide thickness, length, width, colour and surface finish. Include drawings for holes, cut-to-size work or CNC machining so we can review the processing requested.
    • Inspection requirements: agree dimensional, surface and identification checks, and confirm which inspection records or material documents are available for the order.
    • Delivery requirements: discuss bundle quantities, protective wrapping, pallets or crates, markings and unloading access. We confirm packing and loading arrangements for the order.

Send your remote-site enquiry to our factory

Send the material requirement, thickness, panel dimensions or drawing, quantity and delivery destination to our factory for a quotation. Add the intended traffic, ground conditions and unloading arrangements. We will review the request and confirm the offered configuration, supply scope and packing details.
