Production Process of Zhihong Plastic PE Sheets
The production of Zhihong Plastic PE sheets follows a strictly controlled process to ensure stable quality, reliable performance, and long service life. The main steps are as follows:
1. Raw Material Selection
The primary raw material is high-quality polyethylene resin.
We select the appropriate resin grade based on:
- Resin type (HDPE, LDPE, or special grades)
- Particle size and flow characteristics
- Purity and contamination control
Only resins that meet our internal standards are approved for production.
2. Formula Design
According to the required properties and end-use application of the PE sheets, a dedicated formulation is designed. This may include:
- Antioxidants and UV stabilizers
- Impact modifiers and processing aids
- Fillers or reinforcing materials (where applicable)
The goal is to optimize mechanical strength, chemical resistance, weatherability, and processability for each specific application.
3. Compounding & Melt Processing
The selected raw materials and additives are accurately weighed and mixed in defined proportions.
They are then fed into extruders or internal mixers, where they are:
- Melted
- Homogenized
- Compounded into a uniform PE melt
This step produces a consistent sheet blank with stable composition.
4. Sheet Forming (Molding / Extrusion)
The PE melt or sheet blank is formed into sheets by:
- Passing through a flat die and calender rolls (extrusion) or
- Press molding under controlled temperature and pressure
This step determines the final thickness, width, and surface finish of the PE sheet.
5. Controlled Cooling
After forming, the PE sheet is cooled gradually to room temperature under controlled conditions.
This helps:
- Minimize internal stress
- Prevent warping or distortion
- Ensure dimensional stability
6. Secondary Processing
According to customer drawings and specifications, PE sheets can be further processed by:
- Cutting and trimming
- Drilling and milling
- Grooving, bending or welding
- Bonding or fabricating into semi-finished components
This ensures the sheets meet a wide range of industrial application requirements.
7. Quality Inspection
Every batch of PE sheets undergoes strict quality inspection, including:
- Visual and surface inspection
- Dimensional accuracy (thickness, flatness, width)
- Mechanical performance (strength, impact resistance)
- Thermal properties and, where required, chemical resistance tests
Only products that meet Zhihong Plastic’s internal standards and customer requirements are released for shipment.
8. Packaging & Delivery
Qualified PE sheets are cleaned and packaged using:
- Protective films
- Cardboard boxes, pallets, or wooden crates (export-grade)
This prevents damage, contamination, and deformation during handling, storage, and transportation.
